The Volunteers:
• Are over 18 years of age
• Speak the Serbian language
• Have an interest in assisting frail people
• Are willing to spend some time providing companionship
All volunteers go through training which covers:
• Their roles and responsibilities
• Older person’s needs and rights
• Confidentiality and communication
• First Aid and other compulsory trainings
Our services are funded under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. Older people pay a contribution/fee towards the cost of services they receive if they can afford to do so ($5 per activity for the Group Social Support activities and $5 per activity for Accompanied activities-shopping).
